Read is a fourth generation native of Nashville.  He began his career in real estate working on a framing crew for a local custom home builder while still in college.  He began his appraisal career in 1988 and enjoyed appraising and consulting of various types of real estate for a number of clients including attorneys, lenders, relocation companies, local and state agencies as well as a number of other real estate agents.

He graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy, attended the University of Mississippi and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Belmont University.  He has been a licensed appraiser since 1990 (the first-year licensing was available in Tennessee) and a member of The Appraisal Institute for over 24 years.  He has been a licensed Realtor since 1997 and additionally awarded the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI) and the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designations.

Read merged his appraisal and brokerage businesses to form The Warner Company in 2001 and became the Principal Broker.  There is no doubt that the Nashville real estate landscape has changed during his 31 years of experience in this market, however Read has remained focused on building lifelong relationships with individuals and families while advising them in making the best investment decisions to suit their needs for both the present and the future.

His appraisal and consulting experience has given him a broad knowledge of various property types and influences on value, and it has taken him to all parts of middle Tennessee.  His sales experience covers a wide range of Nashville neighborhoods with a concentration in southwest Davidson and northern Williamson Counties.  In addition to traditional residential sales and marketing, he helps clients purchase and sell recreational farms and investment property as well as collaborates on development and new construction projects in and around the middle Tennessee area.  “I see The Warner Company as a service-oriented, client-driven advisory partnership that has the knowledge and experience to achieve the absolute best results for our clients.”
